DR - Wired: Earlier this week Wisconsin’s Democratic Governor Jim Doyle petitioned the state legislature to pass a bill which would effectively ban Santa (aka Chris Kringle) from entering WI airspace with his fleet of flying reindeer. This is seen as a direct result of Santa’s refusal to turn over Donner for testing of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) early last month. Unfortunately the tests for CWD requires involve the direct examination of brain tissue from the animal, conducting the test is considered particularly invasive and life threatening as it requires beheading of said animal. Wisconsin residents and more national public outcry has done little to sway the Democrat’s position on the matter. NRA officials are rumored to have started their own petition demanding to test Doyle next if the proposed Personal Protection Act bill current being debated for the state is again struck down

In a related story, last year Santa made the token gesture to prove his herd was isolated enough not to be affected from disease, a reindeer named ‘Gunthur’, a part time coach and third string backup sleigh puller, was offered up for testing. Lab results are still reported as pending.

Earlier reports of Doyle accepting a bribe of $100,000 per reindeer permitted to fly in Wisconsin airspace are still being investigated and are as yet not completely founded.

Publicly posting an email from the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Association in hopes of spreading the word a bit further about a really cool prize package they are raffling off to raise funds to pay for media coverage of their mission: To get the Concealed Carry bill passed for Wisconsin. Something very near and dear to my heart.

Dear fellow gun owner:

Several weeks ago we emailed you about a raffle that the Wolf River Artisans’ Guild is conducting. The profits from the raffle will go to The Wisconsin Concealed Carry Association to help us buy newspaper advertising in key legislative districts to counter the lies told by the media.

The drawing of the raffle tickets will be held on September 5th, less than four weeks from now.

Frankly, ticket sales are less than expected. And, without sufficient ticket sales, we won’t be able to run ads that tell the truth about the proposed concealed carry law. All the people of Wisconsin will hear are the lies that Governor Doyle and his allies tell the press.

The package being raffled off consists of a hand-tuned, hand-engraved Springfield Armory Champion, a hand-tuned, hand-engraved Ruger SP-101 revolver, hand-made python holsters for both guns, a hand-made knife, and hand-made python leather sheath for the knife, and a hand-made wooden presentation case for all.

The value of this package is over $5,000. And this is a winner-take-all raffle: the winner gets both handguns, the knife, the holsters and sheath, and the presentation case.

You can view photos of the items (except for the presentation case, which is still being built) at http://www.wolfriverguild.org/.

At that site you can also print out an order form for tickets, which are only $20 each.

With less than four weeks left, we urge you to use this opportunity to win a truly unique handgun/knife/holster package, and help us tell the people of Wisconsin the truth about concealed carry at the same time.

Thank you,
The Wisconsin Concealed Carry Association

What the hell does the Federal Election Commission have to do with Bloggers? Here come the liberals getting ready to launch another cry-baby-assed attack on free speech. What next Kerry lost because of bloggers? Not a chance, he lost, because he like the last democrat to sit in that chair, has no spine! Let’s see the release form for his military records that was going to be signed when? Oh that’s what I thought, sit down and shut up.

We’ve got folks fighting the current ‘powers that be’ in DC right now to leave us the hell alone, we have a right, a voice, just like anyone else. Though, some of our voices may not be heard by as many as any other media, some of us are heard by more… in either case it’s free speech, not an election campaign. If I wanted to voice my opinion that Mickey Mouse should be elected that’s my right. Hey moron’s, wake up, try reading the Bill of Rights again, it’s bad enough there have been so many infringements upon the 2nd Amendment, don’t get me started, but the 1st Amendment is only good when it’s working with or for you? When it’s not then try stomping it out of existence, is that your goal? Good luck, you let the commie bastards burn the flag of the country I’ve fought to defend, and now you want to REGULATE what I post on my own website…. Kiss My Ass!

Regulatory Reference: ABC News article

Bloggers who built their Internet followings with anti-establishment prose are now lobbying the establishment to protect their livelihoods from federal regulations.

Some are even working with lawyers, public relations consultants and a political action committee to do it.

Sparked from webloafer’s comment;

Our Bill of Rights has been worked over pretty throughly by the liberal supremes in black.
Don’t deceive yourself……the second admenment is in the cross hairs of these power hungry wolves. They won’t be stopped, how can we short of revolution? And we are too fat and lazy to consider that, and wimps mostly, and cowards.
We let them push us around any way they want.
We vote in our states for laws, they are overturned…..it happens over and over.
It is out of control…it is good to see others realizing the problem.
Remember next is the second admendment……

Is the US headed for another Revolution?

A revolution, I’m not so sure this country is really that far from it, again… only this time we’ll not be fighting the Brit’s (no foul intended) we’ll be wrestling control back from the liberals.

If things continue on the current path of consuming all of the liberties and such we have fought others to keep, fighting the ’system’ to keep them doesn’t seem to be that far from what we’ve done in the past, and are fighting to keep in place for others.

I’m not so certain even the might of the US Military (of which I have proudly served) could stop a revolt of the US population as a whole these days, technology, tanks, and planes all of the toys would really be little match for the pure numbers, they’d be way out-manned and out-gunned. You can’t discount the numbers of the masses whom have also served that possess the knowledge of the tactics and how easily this information could be disseminated and passed along. These little insergencies in Iraq would look like a schoolyard fight in comparison.

As far as repealing the second amendment, ……….when they pry my cold dead fingers …….
This could make for an interesting discussion…. (draw some attention from the FBI/SS too? cool, bring it on.)
