Gov. Jim Doyle and his band of merry communists (aka democrats) have managed to stop the Concealed Carry Bill override session yet again, the state Assembly failed by a vote of 64 to 34 to override Doyle’s veto of the Personal Protection Act, two
votes shy of the required 66 votes to override.
Of course all 60 republicans voted to override the veto, as well as four democrats; Representatives Barbara Gronemus, Amy Sue Vruwink, Marlin Schneider, and Mary Hubler.
Want to know who to blame? Representative Terry Van Akkeren
of Sheboygan, who voted for this bill in 2003, voted for the veto override
in 2004, and voted for the bill last month; and Representative John
Steinbrink of southeastern Kenosha county, who voted for the bill in 2002,
voted for the bill in 2003, voted to override Doyle’s veto in 2004, and also
voted for the bill last month both turned tail and ran to Doyle’s side of the matter. Watch for these names to be splattered all over the papers in coming days, and ultimately come the elections this coming fall!
It boils down to this, a bunch of uneducated people who have no idea of what ‘law abiding citizens’ actually do is sticking to the unpopular side of this matter, leaving the power to do as they choose to those individuals who do NOT abide by the laws. The WI State Supreme Court has already told the state legislature that WI needs to pass some sort of Concealed Carry Law several years ago, to get this now, ‘protect it’s citizens’.
Protection for a ridiculous bill that was put in the books over 130 years ago! The horrific part is this, the law does not prohibit any citizen from carrying a firearm in plain view, so you’d think well that’s just fine by my, I’ll strap a pistol on my hip and be even happier…. I thought this way too…. glad I chose NOT to do just this (instead I’ll unlawfully carry concealed when I feel the need), in most counties you will be arrested for being a public nuisance for open carry! WTF??? The courts’ will make it stick as well!
So long Doyle and your communist cronies… I’ll give 3-1 odds none of you will be sitting in those chairs this time next year. It’s time to pull your heads out of your collective asses and see the light of day for a change. Let’s see, Wisconsin is 1 of 4 remaining states banning the carrying of concealed weapons…. you don’t see something wrong with this picture?
Now after two attempts to get a bill passed, I’ll get a copy of the final bills outlining all the concessions that were made to try to get this into law here shortly. Perhaps now the state supreme court will step in and overturn the antiquated law once and for all, based on the past rulings overturning cases citing this law it would come as little surprise to have it ruled as unconstitutional.
Doyle and the majority of law enforcement under his control (for the time being) have been desicrating our 2nd admendmant rights for too long now.
Concealed carry doesn’t turn the place into the Wild Wild West… it gives law abiding citizens the right to lawfully protect themselves! Over two thirds of the households in the state has at least one firearm in it, so you think this ‘master list’ called for by law enforcement of who has a concealed carry permit will make responding to a demos tic dispute call any safer… ooooooh he/she has a permit to carry so you’d better watch out! Dumb asses, we already have the right to carry any weapon(s) of choice concealed or otherwise in our own homes and on our property!
