Dave’s Ramblings

Students in an advanced biology class were taking a mid term.
The last question was “Name seven advantages of mothers milk” worth 70 points or none at all. One student, who had also partied the night before, was hard put to think of seven advantages. He finally wrote:

1. It is a perfect formula for the child.
2. It provides immunity against several diseases.
3. It is always available as needed.
4. It is always at the right temperature.
5. It is inexpensive.
6. It bonds the child to the mother, and vice versa.

And then, the student was stuck! Finally, just before the bell (indicating the end of the test) rang, he wrote . . .
7. It comes in such cute containers.

He got an “A”.

We decided this weekend that it was time for everyone in the house to start getting back into shape a bit…. If walking to the icebox to get another can of Mt. Dew qualified I’d be in excellent shape, apparently it is NOT. So rearrange the lower living room a bit, put down 80 square feet of those cool foam puzzle piece floor covers then out to the garage to bring in the weight bench and all the iron weights I’ve been hauling around for the last 20+ years…. I had no idea I had so much iron a little over 500lbs of free weights, they’ve been out there for over 5 years. Funniest part was I destroyed the wheelbarrow trying to move a bunch at a time… it just gave up and crumpled, needed replacing any hows but was fun to watch it just creak and then collapse.

Now I remember why I quit lifting…. those things are HEAVY! LOL
But after a quick warm up set I remember why I enjoyed lifting…. the rush and being pumped up feels so good. But obviously I need to ease back in so I don’t do something stupid. Besides I have to teach the girls how to lift/exercise for toning not mass, but without injuring themselves or me. So that will force me to go slow as well.

Tomorrow I’ll bring the treadmill and exercise bike back in as well. We are all looking forward to it, it will be slow going at first, but it’ll provide the three of us with more of that much needed daily quality time.

After setting on a long waiting list Angel finally got her Sailfin Tang. She’s just plain gorgeous, thought I’d share a good close up picture.

and here’s a shot of her in our tank, don’t let the picture fool you about the size of things, the sailfin is a little over halfway full grown, about 8 inches long now and will get to be over a foot long. This tank is a whopping 6 feet long (180 gallon).

And yes, we are completely out of our minds… but we love it. Next tank will have to be 300+ gallons

Just some rambling for the WTF file.

To think my typing skills are lousy, often times I think faster than I type, or vice versa and get some weird stuff… generally it’s close enough to figure out what it should be.

A spam email I just recieved…. thought I am really not sure what on earth it’s about…
But hey if you can sort it out and want I left the email address at the end live, maybe the spam bots will find it and start returning the wasted electrons back to this jerk… mean while it’s time to tell Sendmail to reject any mail from that domain…

I’ve just about had it with all the crud generating from the .ru domains… About 3 more spams from blacklisting the whole top level domain name.
