We decided this weekend that it was time for everyone in the house to start getting back into shape a bit…. If walking to the icebox to get another can of Mt. Dew qualified I’d be in excellent shape, apparently it is NOT. So rearrange the lower living room a bit, put down 80 square feet of those cool foam puzzle piece floor covers then out to the garage to bring in the weight bench and all the iron weights I’ve been hauling around for the last 20+ years…. I had no idea I had so much iron a little over 500lbs of free weights, they’ve been out there for over 5 years. Funniest part was I destroyed the wheelbarrow trying to move a bunch at a time… it just gave up and crumpled, needed replacing any hows but was fun to watch it just creak and then collapse.
Now I remember why I quit lifting…. those things are HEAVY! LOL
But after a quick warm up set I remember why I enjoyed lifting…. the rush and being pumped up feels so good. But obviously I need to ease back in so I don’t do something stupid. Besides I have to teach the girls how to lift/exercise for toning not mass, but without injuring themselves or me. So that will force me to go slow as well.
Tomorrow I’ll bring the treadmill and exercise bike back in as well. We are all looking forward to it, it will be slow going at first, but it’ll provide the three of us with more of that much needed daily quality time.
