This has been floating around the internet for a while, and I dont know if these are true or not , but really who cares because they are damn funny.

After every flight, Quantas Airline pilots fill out a form, called a “gripe sheet,” which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Quantas’ pilots and the solutions recorded by maintenance engineers. By the way, Quantas is the only major airline that has never had an accident.

(P= The problem logged by the pilot.)
(S= The solution and action taken by mechanics.)

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in c o c kpit.
S: Something tightened in c o c kpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That’s what they’re for.

P: IFF inoperative.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you’re right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in c o c kpit.
S: Cat installed.

Please play along.

Note to the first person commenting: simply say hello to me.

And YES, of course you are invited to play as often as you wish. As you already know, I encourage that kind of thing.

The title says it all, yesterday was bring daughter to work day (at least in my case since both of our boys are grown and moved on). Gab got to see where I work and all the cool and exciting things I do every day. Not only am I a ‘puter geek, I’m more of a geek’s geek, when regular computer geeks have troubles I’m the one they seek out. :) Actually I’m the Systems Administrator, Network Admin/Engineer for a pretty good sized company, so she was able to see all of my cool toys and such. Beyond that…pretty boring stuff.

The best part was I got to spend the whole day with her, pretty rare even on weekends, seems there is always dozens of things always going on at home, projects to be done, just life in general. My take on it…. yeah Dad works in a boring office where pretty much everything is now automated and takes care of itself, but we had a good time and were able to share some laughs and junk so it made for a good day by me.

I was even able to set her up with a laptop to start her own blog, though she’s still searching for a direction to take it, for now she’s happily posting jokes and such, maybe it will last, maybe it won’t. Gab’s Blog

What blog would be complete without the obligatory offer of the highly coveted Gmail addresses.. I have 25 to give away, just post a comment (be sure to leave a valid email address where requested) and I’ll happily pass an invite along.

Mom used to threaten me about not washing my ears and growing taters in them… wonder what you have to do to grow one of these in your eyes?

Got a weak stomach? Stop here… otherwise this is a pretty cool series of pics….
